Costa Coffee has opened its first 24-hour store after revealing its Christmas menu

Costa Coffee is launching its first 24-hour drive-thru as part of a new trial.

The trial will start today at its Leicester Meridien East Drive-Thru store, ahead of potential further roll out. The store will extend the trading hours of its drive-thru, which will now remain open between the hours of 10pm to 5am. The main store itself won’t open overnight.

Its opening hours will remain the same at 5am to 10pm. Costa says it has employed four new team members to help serve customers overnight. The coffee chain will listen to feedback from shoppers before it decides to extend opening hours at other stores to cover overnight.

Matt Harman, Regional Operations Director for North and Central England at Costa Coffee, said: “Costa Coffee has always been at the heart of the community, and this trial is another way for us to serve our customers when they need us most.

“We’re proud that our Leicester Meridien East Drive-Thru is the first store to trial this exciting initiative. Whether it’s a late-night coffee run or picking up an early breakfast for commuters, our team is ready to deliver the Costa Coffee experience around the clock.”

It comes after Costa revealed its Christmas menu for 2024 – and it includes a new Caramel Nutcracker range. The Caramel Nutcracker contains a blend of caramel and nutty notes, and is available as a hot or cold latte, or a hot chocolate.

There is also a new Festive Spice Latte – and the Festive Spice syrup can be added to other drinks. Costa fans will also be pleased to hear that some festive drinks from last year are making a return. The Gingerbread and Cream Latte is back and available in a new iced version this year, alongside the popular Terry’s Chocolate Orange Hot Chocolate.

Joining them is the Black Forest Hot Chocolate, which will also be available as a frappe for the firs time. Costa has also announced a range of new food for the festive season. There is a brand new Brie and Cranberry Toastie, which will join the returning Pigs and Blankets Toastie and the Turkey and Trimmings Toastie.

You'll find these alongside the Turkey Feast Sandwich, Brie, Bacon and Chilli Jam Panini and the Hog Roast Toastie. Also new to the menu is the Chocolate and Caramel Nutcracker Cake, with layers of chocolate sponge, filled with caramel frosting, and topped with chocolate hazelnut frosting, plus the Berry Red Velvet Mini Loaf, a chocolate and vanilla-flavoured mini loaf, with a raspberry sauce centre.
